Thudakkam — meaning “beginning” — has officially rolled out, marking the acting debut of Vismaya Mohanlal, daughter of Malayalam cinema icon Mohanlal. The film is directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, known for the acclaimed hit 2018, and is being produced by Aashirvad Cinemas under Antony Perumbavoor.

The project was formally launched with a traditional pooja ceremony in Kochi, attended by Mohanlal and key members of the team. Speaking at the event, Mohanlal shared that he never imagined watching his children step into cinema and expressed quiet pride as Vismaya begins her journey on screen.

While official plot details are yet to be revealed, Thudakkam positions Vismaya in the lead role. Reports also note that she has been undergoing intensive training in Thailand in preparation — signalling a performance-focused debut rather than a conventional launch vehicle.
