Rajinikanth’s Tamil film ‘Annaatthe’ to release on Pongal 2021

The coronavirus pandemic has hit the film industry very hard as several films have already been postponed indefinitely. In the process, the release date of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth’s 'Annaatthe' has also been postponed and will now release on Pongal 2021 as revealed by Sun Pictures.

'Annaatthe' was supposed to be released later this year, but has been delayed like several other films due to the nationwide lockdown and coronavirus pandemic.

'Annaatthe' is an action drama film, which is directed by Siva who has also directed films like Vedalam (2015), Vivegam (2017), and Viswasam (2019). The post-production work of the film has begun as per the guidelines by the government of Tamil Nadu.

Nayanthara, who was also the part of Rajinikanth’s previous film 'Darbar', will again be seen sharing screen with the superstar in 'Annaatthe'. Apart from her, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj, Khushbu Sundar, Meena, and Soori have also been roped up for the film in important roles.

The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under his production company Sun Pictures.
