Kamal Haasan Confirms Mega-Collab With Rajinikanth in Lokesh Kanagaraj Film

Chennai, September 7 - The stars have officially aligned for what can be called one of the biggest collaborations in Indian cinema as legendary Kamal Haasan has confirmed that he will be reuniting with superstar Rajinikanth for a multistarrer, likely to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. It was recently reported that Lokesh has narrated a script to both the Indian cinema legends, and now, the official confirmation straight from the horse's mouth has already sent waves of excitement across the film industry and among fans who have been waiting for decades to see the two legends share the screen again. Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, who started their careers together in the 1970s, last acted in full-fledged roles opposite each other over four decades ago. While both went on to carve their own iconic paths in Indian cinema, their on-screen reunion has always remained a dream for cinephiles. The official confirmation was made during the SIIMA award event, when the host asked Kamal Haasan about the rumours of his reunion with Rajinikanth. The Vikram star said that he and Rajinikanth were supposed to collaborate long back, but they are indeed coming together.

Other than that, there is nothing more." Even though Kamal Haasan didn't say anything about who will direct the film, the news of Lokesh is already out in the media. It will also mark his reunion with both the legendary stars, after Vikram with KH and recently released Coolie with Thalaivaar. Lokesh Kanagaraj has become one of the most sought-after filmmakers of this generation, known for his stylish narratives and the much-talked-about Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU).
