Box Office: Top 10 Highest-Grossing South Indian Films In Hindi

Mumbai, October 9 - Maverick director SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion set the benchmark for not just Telugu cinema but also in the Hindi and rest of the versions. It was the last film to sell over 5 crores tickets in Hindi.

Baahubali 2 was only the second South Indian film, after Baahubali, to reach 100 crores net mark in Hindi. While no other film could come close to the footfalls benchmark set by BB2, nearly a dozen South Indian films have managed to breach 100 crores net mark in Hindi, with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 - The Rule went on to become, not the biggest dubbed grosser, but also the biggest Hindi net grosser of all-time with over 800 crores.

The latest South Indian film to join the 100 crores net club in Hindi is Rishab Shetty's Kannada blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1, which is the prequel to 2022's Kantara. The period folk action thriller has topped the milestone in 7 days, becoming the second Kannada movie and 11th South Indian title to do so in Hindi.

So far, 11 South Indian movies have topped 100 crores net at the Hindi box office, and 8 of them are Telugu movies, while 2 films are Kannada origin and one is a Tamil title. (The list doesn't include Prabhas-fronted Adipurush as well as animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, which are bilingual movies and Bollywood productions.)
