Wimbledon Celebrates Jannik Sinner's Title Triumph With Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan'

London, July 14 - In an interesting crossover between cinema and sports, the official Instagram handle of Wimbledon, a tennis tournament organised by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in collaboration with the Lawn Tennis Association, has celebrated Thalapathy Vijay's Jana Nayagan after Jannik Sinner's title triumph.

On Sunday (July 13), the sensational young Tennis superstar from Italy outsmarted Spain's Carlos Alcaraz in the 4-set final to win his maiden Wimbledon title. To celebrate Sinner's biggest victory to date, Wimbledon posted a picture of him on Instagram, calling him "Wimbledon Nayagan" (Wimbledon's hero), resembling the first look poster of Vijay's farewell film.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is Vijay's 69th film, and potentially his last before his full-time entry into politics. The movie, produced by KVN Productions in its Tamil debut, is a political action thriller which also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani in prominent roles.

The movie is scheduled to release on January 9, 2026, in multiple Indian languages, in theatres worldwide.
