'War 2' Official Synopsis Revealed

Mumbai, July 2 - One of the most awaited action spectacles of the year, War 2, has had its official synopsis reportedly revealed through theatre listings in the USA, and it teases an explosive face-off between Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR's characters.

A sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War and the sixth instalment in Yash Raj Films' blockbuster Spy Universe, War 2 brings back Hrithik Roshan as Kabir, the rogue RAW agent, while introducing Jr. NTR as Agent Vikram, a ferocious Special Units Officer on a mission to hunt him down, in his Bollywood debut.



The viral synopsis reads, "Years ago, agent Kabir went rogue and became India's greatest villain ever. But this time, as he descends further into the deepest shadows, India sends its deadliest, most lethal agent after him, a Special Units Officer who is more than Kabir's equal, absolutely nuclear! Agent Vikram. A relentless Terminator driven by his own demons, determined to put a bullet into Kabir's skull".

"A brutal Cat versus Rottweiler game begins as the two face off. The entire world is their brutal, bloody battleground. The choices ahead of them are impossible. The price to be paid is ultimate. This is a War with spectacular action and heart-wrenching emotion", the synopsis continues.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra under the YRF banner, War 2 also stars Kiara Advani in the lead female role. Speaking about the action design, Mukerji shared in a recent interview that crafting the sequences was a massive creative challenge as both Hrithik and Jr. NTR are mega stars in their own right, and I wanted to create moments that truly justify their on-screen presence.

War 2 is slated for a grand Independence Day weekend release on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
