Update On The CM Punk-Survivor Series Situation; It’s A Well-Kept Secret
Boston, 24 November - As WWE's Survivor Series: WarGames approaches, many fans are eagerly waiting to see if CM Punk will make an appearance. However, despite the event taking place in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, there is no evidence to suggest that the former WWE Champion will be at the show on Saturday. While some speculate that this could just be a well-kept secret, those close to the situation have categorically denied that Punk will be there.
Although anything is possible in the wrestling world, it is certain that Randy Orton will be returning at the upcoming Pay-Per-View. WWE announced Orton's return ahead of time to avoid fans expecting Punk to be the fifth man for the WarGames team. Had nobody been announced, chants for the former AEW star could have broken out.
While there may be some negativity towards Punk within WWE, it is not completely out of the question that he could return. WWE is not opposed to bringing him back if it is a situation they have to do based on fan responses. Given that WWE's current creative team isn't looking to be combative with the audience, if the crowd makes it clear they want to see Punk, there is a chance it could happen.
In recent weeks, speculation about Punk and WWE has been rampant due to certain references made on television and teases on Punk's social media. Many fans have been wondering about Shinsuke Nakamura's mysterious callouts, with some believing they were possibly opening the door to be answered by Punk. However, it remains to be seen whether Punk will make an appearance at the upcoming Pay-Per-View.
