Saiyaara Vs Kabir Singh Opening Weekend (3 Days) Box Office Comparison: Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda-starrer Scores Biggest First Weekend For A Bollywood Romantic Drama

Mumbai, July 20 - Bollywood romantic blockbuster has a new name, Saiyaara!

The Yash Raj Films production, starring two debutantes - Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda - has shattered box office records in its opening weekend at the domestic box office and scripted the biggest first weekend for an Indian romantic drama film.



Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara clocked 80+ crores net collection in its first three days, which was enough to beat Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani-fronted Kabir Singh, which earned around 71 crores net in its first weekend in 2019.

Kabir Singh was a bigger release than Saiyaara, and also featured an established star, Shahid Kapoor, headlining it. The latest blockbuster has stunned the entire trade that failed to see what was coming. It has been a long time since a love story emerged as a blockbuster at the box office, and Saiyaara has filled that void.

About Kabir Singh

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and produced by T-Series and Cine1 Studios, Kabir Singh is a remake of Vanga's own Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017). It stars Shahid Kapoor as the titular protagonist, a surgeon, who spirals into self-destruction when his girlfriend, played by Kiara Advani, is forced to marry someone else.
