Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar OTT Release Disappoints Fans

Hyderabad, January 30 - Ranveer Singh's blockbuster Dhurandhar has finally made its way to streaming, but the much-awaited OTT debut has seemingly failed to live up to audience expectations. While fans were excited to revisit the high-octane action thriller after its sensational theatrical run, the Netflix version has sparked disappointment across social media platforms soon after its release.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar started streaming on Netflix from January 30 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, after the 8 weeks of theatrical run. However, the OTT audience is expressing disappointment over the release. The main reason behind the backlash is the reduced runtime and visible censorship in the OTT cut.

One major point of discussion was that Netflix's version of Dhurandhar is nine minutes shorter than the original duration of 3 hours and 34 minutes. The runtime of the film on the streaming platform is 3 hours and 25 minutes. Going by the social media reactions, fans are accusing the streaming platform of muting dialogues, censoring abusive language and trimming a total of 10 minutes of the film.

According to reports, the runtime of the movie was reduced after the makers were asked to mute two words and one dialogue in reference to Baloch in the movie. According to the revised censor certificate of Dhurandhar, its new runtime is 3 hours, 28 minutes and 56 seconds, and it was further shortened for Netflix release.
