Producer Provides Fresh Clarification On Jr. NTR's Devara 2

Hyderabad, January 28 - Amid persistent rumours surrounding the fate of director Koratala Siva's Devara: Part 2, the film's producer has provided a fresh update. There have been reports that the sequel might be shelved or indefinitely delayed, but the producer has denied the rumours, stating that the movie is well on track.

According to the producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni (via India Today), the apparent silence around Devara 2 was largely due to scheduling complexities and the makers' decision to take ample time before moving into the next phase. With Jr. NTR currently committed to other projects, the team wants to ensure that the sequel gets the required scale, preparation, and focused production timeline, rather than rushing into it.

He said, "We will begin shooting for it in May this year. We plan to release it next year, in 2027. The film will surely be another blockbuster hit". The clarification also comes in the wake of mixed narratives following Devara: Part 1, which opened to strong box office numbers but sparked divided opinions on the creative front.

The makers are reportedly keen on using the feedback constructively, ensuring that Devara 2 ups the stakes in terms of storytelling, action set-pieces, and emotional depth. The first part of the movie, released in 2024, was a box office success with a worldwide collection of 428 crores gross.
