How Much Profit James Gunn's Superman Movie Made? New DC Studio Report Reveals The Truth
Los Angeles, November 21 - A lot of rumours are floating around director James Gunn's Superman movie, which proved to be a loss venture for the studio, but a new DC Universe has emerged, which suggests otherwise.
According to Screen Rant, Superman has made DC Studios more than $100 million in profit, and is approaching $150 million globally when all is said and done this year. The film grossed $616.50 million at the worldwide box office, with $262.4 million from the international market, while the $354.1 million came from domestic.
Starring David Corenswet as Man of Steel/Superman, Superman will end 2025 as the highest-grossing comic book film, surpassing all of Marvel Studios' releases. It is also the only superhero movie of the year to cross $600 million worldwide, with the second best being Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps ($522 million).
Written and directed by James Gunn, it is the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) and a reboot of the Superman film series. It marks the beginning of DCU's Chapter 1: "Gods and Monsters" slate. The movie also stars Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced.
