The Hindu calendar, also known as the Vedic or Panchanga calendar, is a lunar calendar with many regional variations. The number of months and their names can vary depending on the specific tradition or community.

Here is a list of the 12 months in the traditional Hindu calendar:



Chaitra - 31 days, falls in March/April. It is the first month of the Hindu year and marks the beginning of the spring season.

Vaishakha - 31 days, falls in April/May. It is the second month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the summer season.

Jyeshtha - 31 days, falls in May/June. It is the third month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the monsoon season.



Ashadha - 31 days, falls in June/July. It is the fourth month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the pre-monsoon season.

Shravana - 31 days, falls in July/August. It is the fifth month of the Hindu year and marks the peak of the monsoon season.

Bhadrapada - 31 days, falls in August/September. It is the sixth month of the Hindu year and marks the end of the monsoon season.



Ashwin - 30 days, falls in September/October. It is the seventh month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the post-monsoon season.

Kartika - 30 days, falls in October/November. It is the eighth month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the winter season.

Margashirsha - 30 days, falls in November/December. It is the ninth month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the peak winter season.

Pausha - 30 days, falls in December/January. It is the tenth month of the Hindu year and marks the end of the winter season.

Magha - 30 days, falls in January/February. It is the eleventh month of the Hindu year and marks the start of the pre-spring season.

Phalguna - 30 days, falls in February/March. It is the twelfth month of the Hindu year and marks the end of the pre-spring season.

Note: Days may vary in each month and there can be 2 same months in a year.
