Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate Becomes Highest-Grossing Gujarati Film After Unprecedented Turnaround

Mumbai, November 15 - Gujarati devotional drama Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate has started the sixth weekend on a strong note, grossing more than the combined total of the first three weeks. The film grossed approximately 3.25 crores on its 36th day, which is an unbelievable collection for any film, let alone a regional title.

Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, Laalo has crossed the 50 crores gross mark at the time of writing this piece on its 37th day. The day is heading for 4+ crores gross, which will take its total domestic gross to around 53.50+ crores, making it only the second Gujarati film of all-time to cross the figure after Chaal Jeevi Laiye.

The box office records of past Gujarati films are unavailable, but it is said that Chaal Jeevi Laiye grossed a little over 50 crores. Laalo is expected to be over 53 crores gross at the end of the day, which effectively makes it the highest-grossing film in the Gollywood cinema history.

It is hard to predict where Laalo will finish its run, especially since it has had an unprecedented turnaround. As said, it grossed around 1.50 crores in the first three weeks, before it exploded in the 4th week and onwards due to positive word of mouth. It is undoubtedly one of the biggest turnarounds in the history of Indian cinema.
