Jon Jones Reacts To Francis Ngannou’s Win Over Ciryl Gane At UFC 270
However, Jon Jones didn't attend the event, but he couldn't resist a tweet—with the title unifier of UFC 270—between Francis Nganou and Cyril Gain, and he wasn't impressed by what he saw.
Jones was home, watching the whole fight happening. During the fight, Jones dropped a couple of tweets, mocking the sometimes-lumbering heavyweight headliner, which ended with a unanimous decision win for Ngannou via scores of 48-47, 48-47 49-46 in the pay-per-view headliner.
The former UFC light heavyweight king is gearing up for his heavyweight debut. He is probably the next challenger for the Heavyweight title fight against Ciryl Gane.
He is a former two-time UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, holding the title from March 2011 to April 2015 and from December 2018 to August 2020. Jones also held the interim UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in 2016.
Jones last fought against Dominick Reyes on February 8, 2020 in the main event of UFC 247. Jones won the fight via controversial unanimous decision. On August 15, 2020, Jones announced on social media that he would be relinquishing the Light Heavyweight Championship, as well as expressing his desire to move up to heavyweight, which hasn’t yet officially come to completion with a flight booking.
