Johnny Gargano Issues Statement On AEW Crowd Chanting ‘Johnny Wrestling’

Currently, Johnny Gargano has taken time off to welcome the birth of a child. On August 12, 2021, the two announced that Candice is pregnant with their first child, a boy, due in February 2022.

During the January 26th, 2022 edition of AEW Dynamite in his hometown of Cleveland, OH, fans started chanting Johnny Wrestling", expecting his debut, but nothing so happened at the end of the day.



After the show, Gargano issued the statement to fans, promising that he will make it up to fans as soon as possible.

"I heard you and you have no idea how much it means to me that you're excited to see me back at it.

It's scary to step away because your insecurities say "they'll forget about you".. but you haven't forgotten and I promise that I will make it up to you asap. #JohnnyWrestling ❤

On the following episode of NXT 2.0, Gargano cut a farewell promo where he thanked his fans, friends, and family before being brutally attacked by Grayson Waller. This would seemingly be Gargano’s final appearance in NXT as his contract expired on December 10 and he chose not to renew it.
