Canelo Álvarez Wins WBA And Vacant WBC Super Middleweight Titles

After more than one year on the sidelines, Canelo Alvarez returns to action tonight (Sat., Dec. 19, 2020) to face Super Middleweight champion, Callum Smith, inside The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Boxing's biggest superstar Canelo Alvarez put on a dominant show Saturday night to cap the 2020 major fight slate. Canelo Alvarez defeats Callum Smith via unanimous decision to win the WBC and WBA super-middleweight titles, Alvarez is now 54-1 in his career with 36 KOs.



The scorecards read 119-109, 119-109 and 117-111, all for Alvarez. In front of 15,000 fans (20% capacity) at the San Antonio Alamodome, Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) stalked Smith (27-1, 19 KOs) beating him with a pattern of steady jabs, uppercuts, and hooks for 12 rounds.
