Akshay Kumar In Talks To Headline Tamil Director Arun Matheswaran's Action Thriller

Mumbai, February 21 - Superstar Akshay Kumar began the year with Maddock Films' Sky Force, which turned out to be a decent success. Going forward, the actor has a promising line-up of films with many potential big blockbusters in the making.

As the actor is busy shooting multiple films, he is in talks to headline Tamil director Arun Matheswaran's action thriller film. According to the report by Peepingmoon.com, the Captain Miller director has started negotiations with the actor who has reportedly verbally agreed to the same.



Matheswaran is currently working on the script and Akshay is expected to sign on the dotted line after a full script narration, scheduled around June or July. The film in question is said to be a content-driven commercial action thriller tailored to appeal to all Indian audiences.

The film is being produced by Sarita Ashwin Varde, the wife of Akshay's regular collaborator Ashwin Varde under the banner Roaring River Productions. The actor and producer are also expected to join hands for the sequel to Bhagam Bhag.

Given the official confirmation, Akshay will start Matheswaran's action thriller after completing his current assignments. He is presently shooting for Priyadarshan's horror-comedy, Bhoot Bangla, and will soon wrap up the final schedule of Welcome to the Jungle, both scheduled for release in 2026.

Akshay also has a comedy-drama with Fukrey director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba to shoot, following which, he will reunite with Priyadarshan for the hugely-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 by the end of this year. Apart from these in-production titles, the actor has Kesari: Chapter 2, Housefull 5, and Jolly LLB 3, slated to be released on April 18, June 6, and the second half of the year, respectively.
